On the afternoon of June 15th, the graduation degree awarding ceremony for the 2023 graduates of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Hefei Campus was held at the Hubing Auditorium on Tunxi Road Campus. Xiaoping Liu, a member of the university party committee and vice president, attended the ceremony, along with relevant leaders of the college, members of the degree evaluation committee, faculty representatives, and the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree recipients. The ceremony was presided over by Lipeng Li, the deputy secretary of the college party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection commission.

The ceremony began with the solemn national anthem. Professor Nianwen Xiang, the dean of the college, read out the "Decision on the Awarding of Graduate Degrees to the 2023 Graduates of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation." The attending leaders and teachers presented degree certificates to 522 bachelor's degree recipients, 254 master's degree recipients, and 14 doctoral degree recipients. They adjusted the tassels on the graduates' caps and took commemorative photos.

In his speech, Xiaoping Liu, a member of the university party committee and vice president, congratulated all the students who successfully completed their studies and obtained their degrees on behalf of the university. He expressed sincere gratitude to the teachers and parents who cared for and supported the students in their academic journey. He encouraged the students to continue to study diligently, work hard, and become the successors of the greate cause of the nation. He urged them to live up to the times, adhere to the spirit of hard work, carry forward the fine traditions of the university, become pioneers of the era, remember their original aspirations and missions, consciously integrate their personal ideals into the great cause of the country, and let innovation become the driving force for their youthful voyage. He advised them to be diligent in their actions, maintain composure and optimism, cultivate the habit of lifelong learning, read more books, read good books, lead their lives with a developmental perspective, and become courageous individuals who are willing to shoulder responsibilities in the era, and live a happy and healthy life. Xiaoping Liu stated that no matter where they go in the future, our university will always be their strongest support and the warmest harbour. He wished all the graduates a bright and prosperous future and a safe and happy journey in their new life.

During the ceremony, Professor Helong Li delivered a speech as a representative of the faculty, congratulating the 2023 graduates on their degree achievements. He mentioned that the relevant majors in the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation have caught up with a favourable era. He encouraged the students to be grateful for the mission bestowed upon them by the times. On the one hand, they should strive to make contributions in their professional practice. At the same time, they should cherish the opportunity to be part of the thriving industry, remain modest and composed, make long-term plans, continue learning, and always maintain competitiveness. He emphasized that a wonderful life journey only comes with persistence and always being grateful for what you have.

As the representative of the graduating classes, Lina Liu, a student from Class 3 of the major of Electrical Engineering and Automation, who received the President's Award, delivered a speech. She expressed deep gratitude for the nurturing and cultivation provided by Hefei University of Technology and heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated guidance of the teachers. She called on all the graduates to bear in mind the university motto of "Virtue, Knowledge, Practicality, and Innovation," consciously strive to become "backbone and leading talents who possess both moral integrity and outstanding abilities, and serve the country," not to waste their youth, and bravely become fighters for progress in the new era. The father of graduate student Yueheng Song spoke on behalf of all the parents, expressing gratitude for the careful cultivation and deep affection shown by the university to their children. He wished the university a prosperous development and the teachers to be widely recognized in the future. He also wished the students a bright future and a brilliant and fulfilling life.

Finally, Dong Lei, a student who received the President's Award in 2023, led the graduation oath and declaration. All the graduates took the oath together, using resolute and powerful words of youthful responsibility and a resounding voice of the era, singing the most beautiful summer song on the banks of the Hubing Pond.
